2016 Was the Best Failure
2016 was a crazy year. We were so blessed to be part of so many more weddings than we anticipated going into the year, serving amazing couples, working with an outstanding community of vendors, and traveling to Italy for the first time and back to our favorite place on earth, Israel, to shoot weddings.
But it hasn't been easy and there were goals we set and failed to reach. We missed deadlines. We forgot to do things. We were disappointed by what we saw on the back of the camera. We had miserable toddler days and, for Hannah, even more miserable 1st trimester pregnancy days. And we had days where we just couldn't drag ourselves off the couch.
This year, we have better goals. We are more skilled and better equipped. But we tend to focus on the highlights and share the best of the best, especially in the wedding industry, even though it's important to acknowledge both successes and failures. We're all human, as husbands and wives and parents, as photographers or coordinators or florists. Sometimes we fail, but at the end of the year we can still look back and see not only the amazing things that we busted our ass to earn, but also the blessings that we didn't deserve at all!
