Alden & Jessica’s Mountain Lodge Wedding at Glass Hill, Virginia

There was a warm breeze on the mountain when we arrived at Glass Hill for the wedding. Gothic chandeliers hung from high ceiling over the reception space. Almost 200 table settings were arranged around stacks of old books and vintage jars of baby’s breath. Touches of gold were everywhere, from Jess’ EPIC gold stud sneakers to their gold-accented decor arranged on furniture chosen from Glass Hill’s private collection.

Some of our favorite moments: Jess had Jaegerbombs with her dad, something they’ve been doing together for special occasions for years. Although they did not want to see each other before the ceremony, Jess had a gift delivered to Alden - a framed star map, because on the night they started dating, they were in her parents’ driveway when she saw a shooting star and her wish was to marry him one day. He knew she made a wish, but didn’t know until their wedding day what it was. 😭

And in case you were wondering what happens when the whole cheer squad from JMU shows up at your wedding, let us just warn you: The dancing is going to be craaazy, and the bride is going to get thrown in the air! Probably a few times!

Finally we finished the night with fire pits in the frosty night air and romantic portraits in the dark. <3 Alden & Jess, you guys really know how to throw a party. You’re genuine and awesome and we want to hang out again ASAP.
