Dave & Laken's Sunset Engagement Session in Washington, D.C.

Their love story has always gravitated toward the water. Their first date was at one of Laken’s favorites place in the world, the waterfront in Alexandria, VA, where they sat on a bench and ate ice cream together. And it was there, on that same bench, where Dave got down on one knee and asked Laken to be his wife.

So when we were talking about where to have their engagement session, it was no question that they wanted to be by the waterfront again. And to get the iconic Washington Monument in the background, we actually went across the Potomac to a marina on the other side. Tucked down a hill, away from the roaring traffic and crowds of people, Dave and Laken were able to snuggle up on a blanket and enjoy a glass of wine together. From there, we followed the last bit of sunlight across the park until we ended the night by the light of the D.C. skyline behind us. It was such fun from beginning to end, and we can’t wait for their wedding day!
