Bill & Bergen's Engagement Session at Natural Bridge, Virginia
"I had to close my eyes as she sang. She was too beautiful."
Bill remembers vividly the evening at church when they officially met. Bergen was practicing for a performance and they needed help with the audio equipment. Their mutual friend, who had already anticipated that they would be make a good couple, knew just the right man to call for help! Andd we couldn't agree more with their friend after seeing the two of them together. 💙
Bill proposed the day after Bergen’s birthday, in January, on Roosevelt Island in DC. They had designed her engagement ring together. Bergen specifically wanted the intricate details on the side of the ring band and she picked out the shape of the diamond - but not the size. It arrived earlier than expected, and Bill surprised her with a whole size larger than she expected. Wait til you see it!
Before running off to an engagement party with family (and cake. Definitely cake.), they spent the afternoon with us at Natural Bridge, Virginia. As Bergen was planning their session, her inspiration theme was "the first signs of spring." There was a bit of snow still on the ground, but the sun was shining and it was 60 degrees! But really, they themselves felt like spring. Such energy, joy and just the right pops of color in their outfits. And their love for one another, the way they each support and hold each other up, was so complementary to the colossal stone formation behind them.
Huge shoutout to Bergen's cousin, Amaree, who came along for hair, makeup, and wardrobe support!
