Joseph & Delaney

Joe & Delaney had actually been married by their pastor two months ago, just the three of them at his home one afternoon. They had just closed on a house of their own and they weren’t going to move in together before they were married!

That didn’t slow down their wedding plans at all though. If anything, maybe it clarified them: Delaney told us several times, “This is a going away party for all our friends here.” And a going away party places the priority on others, on having fun together and having time to genuinely connect. This wedding certainly succeeded.

Two days before the wedding, before the guests and the excitement and the chaos, Delaney decided she wanted to have a private first look with Joe by the river at Glen Haven. It was the kind of unconventional and thoughtful decision that Joe and Delaney are known for making I think. It gave them special time and space to focus on each other, while also alleviating timeline stress and freeing up extra time to enjoy cocktail hour with their guests on the weekend.

The day of their wedding was relaxed, fun, and simply beautiful. Delaney chose simple and thoughtful decor, like bouquets of fresh-picked peonies, roses, and wildflowers that were grown just a few miles away in the foothills. The ladies got ready in the sprawling, 9-bedroom farmhouse built in the 1800s, while the men got ready in the historic barn that would house their ceremony and reception. The night ended with an evening fireworks show and a private last dance in the barn while the guests enjoyed the bonfire outside. They couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day to get married a second time - to each other. 😉
