Danny and Cherry’s love story started 7 years ago, as two homeschool students on different sides of the continent, enrolled in the same online high school program. Her parents had immigrated from Hong Kong to Toronto when she was only three years old. Danny was born and bred a corn-fed Midwestern boy. They couldn’t have come from more different backgrounds, but there were sparks as soon as they met in their online classroom. They met in person for the first time on a campus tour at Wheaton College in Illinois. They would not stop pursuing each other across the continent after that.
Their wedding day was extraordinary, mainly because they are such a beautiful and kind couple - but, secondarily, the thoughtfulness and care that went into every detail of their day.
Cherry wore three wedding dresses: A traditional wedding dress from Hong Kong for their tea ceremony the day before and their First Look; a classic white lace gown by Anne Barge for their Catholic Mass ceremony; and a glimmering gold gown for their reception at the Haley Mansion. Danny’s tux was handmade in Hong Kong by Cherry’s uncle. Cherry designed their luxurious invitation suite that included an amazing piece of custom art by a friend. I could go on and on with stories and photos of all the custom details, but this blog post would be never end. So enjoy this selection of just a few of our favorite moments from their day!
