Like so many other couples this year, Brian & Devan had to reimagine their wedding day… again, and again, and again. Finally the day was just around the corner and they had to make a decision. For everyone’s safety, they decided to wait for the big party until 2021, but they couldn’t wait to be married. And that truly is the beauty of their story, that they have waited so long for one another.

God is rarely early, never late, and always right on time. Brian & Deven prayed for a spouse for many years and waited faithfully on the Lord to provide. It was just their officiant, their parents, their siblings, and us - we all met one warm Sunday afternoon at the Great Oak Manor and bore witness as they committed their lives together. The whole day felt so relaxed and fun, with plenty of spare time to enjoy getting ready, doing a first look with Devan’s dad, a first look with each other, two sets of family portraits, and SO many husband and wife portraits! Throughout the whole day, everyone at one time or the other commented on how peaceful and not rushed the day was - and even grateful that this was how their wedding day ended up.

At the ceremony, as their pastor picked up their wedding bands, he said that if the Bride’s ring fits perfectly into the Groom’s ring, then it was a special sign that not only were they made for one another, but that they will withstand the test of time. And Devan’s ring fit just perfect in the middle of Brians ring.The rest of the evening was filled with a delicious dinner and dessert, toasts, lots of dancing, and a lot of clinking glasses! 🥂 Then they enjoyed a little bit of sparkler fun after dark and a starry night shot over the Chesapeake Bay just because we had so much extra time to enjoy ourselves.

Thank you so much for trusting us with your memories! You guys are a true testament to faithfulness in each other and in God’s perfect timing. Even in the difficult moments and uncertainty, you never wavered on the end goal - to be married and live out this life serving each other and our creator together. You are SO much for powerful for the Kingdom together then you are apart. Thank you for trusting us to climb all over the rocks and the sparklers shots (thanks Brynn, for literally taking the fall for that one) to get some incredible portraits, but most of all thank you for so lovingly welcoming us into your family <3
