The whole week we were nervous about the weather. Every day we checked, and every day it called for thunderstorms on Saturday. Even driving up to the beautiful wedding venue, On the Glen on Glenburn Farm, we were obsessively checking the radar. But as we stepped into the cabins of Melissa and Jason on their wedding day, there was nothing but calm. So much so, it seemed as if even the weather was calmed for them.

There's always this desire to be with them, but still wanting to have that first look to be the moment the bride walks down the aisle is a hard tension to work through. Laura and Trevor decided to have a "first look, no peek," which is a wonderful compromise.

Read MoreWow, old Venice was NOT what we expected. We jumped on a bus outside our apartment (because, surprise, we didn't know you had to buy tickets before you get on. Sorry, Italy transit. We paid for the trip back, I promise). You can't drive to the old city - you can only get there by bus or train. It was insanely crowded. We decided to start walking towards Piazza San Marco which was about a mile from the bus stop. Normally, that shouldn't be a big deal, but being 11 weeks pregnant, I just couldn't do it. We gave up, slowed down, and soaked in what we could get.

But we're slowly getting back behind our cameras and this session was the perfect way to start back after our maternity leave! Baby Trace is just a few days younger than our little man, and this session reminded us of how much beauty there is in these exhausting first weeks. SO much beauty.
