Orange, VA | Sydney & Josh's Wedding at Rounton Farm
When we arrived at Rounton Farm with K.Jugar Photography, all was quiet except for the rain pounding on the barn roof and the occasional goose honking. The barn was already set up with rustic tables, mason jars with candles, flowers, and string lights. Ellen was putting the last few touches on the old grain house where the groom and his men would be getting ready, while Ellen's mother was readying the guesthouse for the bridal party.
After a quick lunch courtesy of Chic-fil-A, the girls hurred to help Sydney finish getting ready so she could spend some time alone with her mother before the wedding. Meanwhile, Josh was nervous and incredibly excited. The guys helped each other with ties and vests while he sat in the corner fidgeting and adjusting his suit. His dad joined them just before the ceremony started, pulled all the guys around, and they prayed over Josh together one last time.
As the men took their positions, the bridesmaids watched from the windows of the barn, whispering updates to Sydney in the corner and dire threats if she dared to look out the window herself. She's not the crying type, but it was all she could do to blink the tears away and take a few deep breaths in the dark.
20 meters away on the other side of the barn wall, Josh was also taking deep breaths. He knew he would cry. He had waited a long time for this day. He understood his responsibilities in this covenant. In his obedience of the example set by Jesus, he washed Sydney's feet while two of their best friends sang "How He Loves." There wasn't a dry eye in the house - uh, barnyard.
And then the party got turned UP. Great music, great food and drinks, so much dancing and rejoicing until well into the night. We wrapped up the night with an awesome exit for Sydney and Josh as they headed off to Punta Cana for their honeymoon!
You guys rocked it. You have so many people who love you and it was a joy to be a part of your wedding!
