Jonathan & Jessica's Summertime Wedding at Dellwood Plantation, Virginia

If you guys follow us on social media (which you should!), then you probably saw Jess and Jon’s weather testimony. If you haven’t, I’d like to share it one more time, but from the words of Jess herself:

“Love this photo and LOVE this testimony of God's provision! He truly gave us a miracle! When Jonathan DeFreeuw and I chose July 21 as our wedding day, we knew that it was the hottest day of the year on average. In faith, I prayed every single day for the Lord to give us a beautiful day. I specifically asked for 85 degrees, overcast, and breezy in the Name of Jesus. The week of the wedding, the forecast every day said 115 degree heat index, but I held on to faith that it would be 85, overcast, and breezy in the Name of Jesus... even up until that morning, when most everyone had no hope left. Our ceremony started and the fans were waving aggressively and the sun bearing down, but we walked in faith that it would be okay... and during our vows, we heard thunder in the distance (one of our favorite things!) and the dark storm clouds approached. Our venue was covered in clouds, but no rain fell! The storm brought a breeze and dropped the temperature but we had beautiful weather! Hallelujah! Our God is a good Father!

‘Which of you, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? So if you who are evil know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!’ Matthew 7:9-11”

There were so many other beautiful details from the day, but I truly just want to take a moment to praise the Lord for his provision on that day. He truly is SO good to us.

So Jess and Jon, from Jonathan and I, we wish you guys all the best for the years to come. We bless you guys with the courage to always face the heat and take on those July 21st type of days with as much faith as you did the day you made a covenant together. And just as we watched you serve communion to each of your guests, may your marriage always inspire you to serve those around you, bringing them closer to our Lord and drawing them into the shalom of the Kingdom.
