“Derek will end up in the river.” That was Kristin’s response to us asking if they wanted to play a game during their portraits, and that perfectly sums up their competitive spirits. This amazing couple met on a mission trip to Kenya, despite living minutes apart from each other on campus at Messiah College. One of the first things Derek noticed about her was how she wore her hair in a beautiful braid, so that’s how she wore it on her wedding day.

These two aren’t only competitive [which they are. Did we mention that? Very competitive.], but they also love the Lord. Their whole day was focused on the gospel of repentance and filled with the joy of God. It’s truly an honor for us to witness these souls joining their lives together in a biblical covenant - a fierce allegiance that grows stronger in the midst of suffering, and flourishes wildly in the good times.

I’m sure they’ll share their favorites, but here were a few of our favorite moments from the day. Just wait until you see how Derek looks at “Kris” during their first look. She knocked his Chewbacca socks right off. 😍
